The FBD Insurance Rás is an 8 day international cycling event, held annually in May.
It is the longest running sponsored event in Irish Sport and celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2002.
After 22 years as co-sponsor of Ireland’s premier international cycle race, formerly known as the FBD Milk Rás, FBD Insurance took over sole sponsorship of the event in 2005 and the competition is now known as the "FBD Insurance RÁSâ€?.
The race has developed into a much sought after event by professional and amateur teams from many parts of the world. As part of the elite international calendar it is eligible to award qualifying points that are required for participation in Olympic Games and World Cycling Championships.
Requests for invitations to compete in the race have come from as far as South Africa, Germany, France, Canada, Denmark, Moldavia.
Previous winners include Stephen Roche and Shay Hanlon.
